MSMEE-Chapter 31

 Chapter 31: Trying Medicine Again

"Let's go, can you walk?" Wang Zijia asked the little girl.

Upon hearing this, the little girl silently got up, and Wang Zijia stooped down to take her left hand. The girl trembled slightly for a moment but made no further response.

With his entourage, Wang Zijia was respectfully escorted out of the courtyard by the steward. Just before leaving, he suddenly asked, "By the way, what's your name?"

"In reply to the young master, I am from the same family as you, and my single name is An, seeking only peace of mind," replied the steward Wang An.

"You've chosen quite a good name. I hope you'll always find peace of mind," Wang Zijia said, glancing towards the quarters where there was a faint clamor, and observing the adults outside who had lost their luster.

"I will certainly abide by the teachings of the immortal master," Wang An replied with deference, devoid of any flattery.

Meanwhile, Wang Zijia carried the child to the carriage at the door, lifting her up. As he made contact with her, he noticed her body trembling slightly.

They traveled in silence, and Wang Zijia returned to the courtyard with the child.

"Master, who is this?" Wang's sister-in-law, who had already prepared dinner on time, asked as she looked at the pale girl Wang Zijia brought back.

"She will be living with me from now on. Please prepare meals for one more person in the future," Wang Zijia instructed without further explanation.

"Understood!"

With that, the two of them had no further conversation, and Wang Zijia began to have dinner with Bai Qian.

After dinner, instead of leaving immediately after tidying up, Wang Dan inquired whether the child should be accommodated in his father's room or in a guest room.

After receiving Wang Zijia's response, she prepared the guest room and familiarized the child with the house for a while, giving many instructions, as if afraid that the unfamiliar surroundings would cause Bai Qian to stumble.

She hurriedly left as her next shift was approaching.

"You should rest tonight. I'll treat your injuries tomorrow," Wang Zijia said only after Wang Dan had left.

"Can my injuries really be treated?" Bai Qian asked again, feeling anxious.

Wang Zijia smiled and said, "It's not a serious injury, and isn't your family also from a lineage of cultivators?"

Upon hearing this, Bai Qian fell silent and returned to her room, beginning to explore and familiarize herself with everything.

Wang Zijia paid her no mind and let her do as she pleased.

He then turned and entered the study, closing the door and sitting on the nearby couch. He reached into his pocket and took out a variety of elixirs he had purchased at great expense today.

First, he looked at the Wisdom Heart Pill. So far, apart from purifying the tainted seed, he hadn't found anything that could directly exchange for skill points.

Without hesitation, he swallowed the pill.

It had a slightly cool taste as it entered his mouth, and a refreshing sensation spread from his abdomen, clearing his mind.

Feeling the effects, Wang Zijia frowned. Upon entering his sea of consciousness, he indeed found no relevant skill points. It seemed that like the medicinal substances that enhanced cultivation, it directly enhanced perception and absorption.

Feeling somewhat helpless, Wang Zijia jumped off the bed and began practicing Tai Chi. Currently, he found it to be the fastest skill to enhance, even more formidable than spell techniques.

Unfortunately, stacking all the skill points didn't have any special effects, nor did it show any signs of reaching a cap. Therefore, turning it into a total experience pool for skill points was a good choice, as far as he was concerned.

"Tai Chi Fist: 116."

Twenty-one spirit coins and nearly two hours of  perception and practice, yet only an increase of eighteen points in skill value. To accumulate enough for an advanced spell's three thousand Great Perfection value points through such cultivation, it would take years to calculate.

Of course, this was the norm for cultivation!

Wang Zijia's breakthrough in conversion, now that was exceptional!

Shaking his head, he reached out and retrieved three bottles of poison, two types of pills, and a vial of blood-red liquid.

He first drank the liquid, smacked his lips a few times, feeling nothing particular. Then, he swallowed the other two poison pills.

Weight: Mixed Poison

Status: Dormant

Value: 61

Introduction: A top-grade mixed poison with a six-month dormancy period. Young man, do you have any peculiar habits? Drinking slow-acting poisons all day long!

Twenty-nine spirit coins, sixty-one value points, much better than the ordinary poison before. He wondered if the limit could exceed the ratio of one spirit coin to three value points.

In his contemplation, he then ingested the last Spirit-Bursting Pill.

This pill's effect was extremely similar to the Spirit-Explosion Pill before, or perhaps they were from the same series. Wang Zijia skillfully exchanged it for twenty-two value points.

Seven spirit coins, twenty-two points in value, much better than the effects of the Rage Pill, which brought a smile to Wang Zijia's face.

He then swallowed the last pill, the Qi-Boosting Pill, also a status-enhancing type of medicine.

This pill was milder than the Spirit-Bursting Pill, and Wang Zijia only felt a surge of spiritual power without any frenzy.

Finally, Wang Zijia exchanged twenty-three value points. Although it was slightly more than the Spirit-Bursting Pill, this pill cost eight spirit coins.

Therefore, the most cost-effective one in the end was still the Spirit-Bursting Pill.

Excluding the Wisdom heart pill, he spent a total of forty-four spirit coins, exchanging for one hundred and six value points. With more than a year's worth of Dao accumulation, cultivation was like riding a rocket, bringing a smile of joy to Wang Zijia's face.

Cultivation: Childe Initial Stage (775/2000 ,7 years)

[Editor's note: 7 years above represents dao accumulation worth 7 years of ancient times]

Looking at the sky, although it was already dark, it was still a bit early.

Therefore, Wang Zijia continued his cultivation until midnight, when he finally woke up from meditation. He changed into familiar clothes and quietly left the courtyard, beginning his search.

With the concealment spell he had acquired today, his stealth was even easier.

After leaving the block, he hesitated for a moment before heading towards west again.

The area he visited in the east of the city last night was not small, and he had temporarily disguised himself but with the commotion this afternoon, he felt a bit apprehensive and decided to stay away from that area for now!

Moreover, judging from last night's situation, there was probably nothing left to search for in the east of the city.

"Swoosh!"

"Swoosh swoosh!"

Just a moment after moving forward, several streaks of light flew overhead. Compared to the calm during the day, tonight was much more lively.

It was evident that the big shots from the Law Enforcement Hall were fully engaged in combat. Even with Wang Zijia's stealth spell, he became more cautious.

Also because support to various battles came too quickly, after all, they were flying. Wang Zijia didn't dare to get too close to take advantage, so for most of the night, he didn't get any loot.

Originally, he wanted to try the effect of spells and see if he could absorb them off-site, remove the tainted seeds, and absorb them at home!

"Cackling..."

In the latter half of the night, with a great commotion ,a strange laughter once again came from a certain place in the west of the city.

Wang Zijia was only five streets away at this moment, so he immediately jumped onto a roof beam to hide and observe.

In the distance, a humanoid blood-jade skeleton, five meters tall, emerged, exuding immense power, battling with a disciple from the Law Enforcement Hall.

"Swoosh swoosh!"

Following that, several streaks of light arrived and began to focus fire on the skeleton.
