MSMEE-Chapter 16

 Chapter 16:Naive junior brother

After finishing breakfast and heading out for work, Wang Zijia noticed that the carriages that were usually seen everywhere were nowhere to be found.

Unable to find a carriage after a while, he glanced at the time and had no choice but to slightly enhance his qi, turning into a shadow, and traversed the streets toward the city center.

"Patter... Bang... Bang..."

Just a moment after walking, Wang Zijia was attracted by the sound of a fight and stopped in his tracks. At the same time, his qi seemed to be stirred by something inexplicable, becoming quite active.

Slightly puzzled, he carefully sensed and realized it seemed to be in the alley beside him.

With a flicker in his eyes, Wang Zijia hesitated for a moment, then turned and headed toward the adjacent alley.

Crossing the street, he cautiously looked into the alley. No one was found, at least no living person.

In the alley, lay three corpses: one dressed as a city guard, one as a disciple of a martial arts sect, and one whose specific identity couldn't be determined.

At the end of the alley where the bodies lay, there was still a battle ongoing in the courtyard, indicating there were still people fighting inside.

At this moment, the qi within Wang Zijia's body was also unusually active.

Looking at the three corpses in the alley, Wang Zijia's eyes flickered, especially towards the one whose identity couldn't be determined, as if it had caused a change in his own qi.

With only a moment's hesitation, Wang Zijia stepped into the alley and swiftly approached the unidentified corpse in the middle.

Ignoring the corpses of the city guard and the martial arts disciple, he went straight to the unidentified dead person. It was a young man in his twenties, looking quite ordinary. If it weren't for the human face on his neck, he would appear to be just an ordinary person.

Looking at the face on the person's neck, Wang Zijia felt his innate qi becoming even more active, accompanied by a familiar sense of pleasure spreading through his heart.

A desire emerged in his mind, a desire for that human face, as if it were a peerless beauty.

Feeling his own changes, Wang Zijia inexplicably recalled a scene from his past life.

Addicted alcoholics, even after quitting, often remained the most easily tempted group!

And his innate qi seemed to have become like that sobered alcoholic, unusually sensitive and eager for pollution!

While this situation might be bad for others, for himself...

With his thoughts spinning, Wang Zijia took a deep breath, then followed his instincts without hesitation, his fingertips glowing, reaching out toward the human face on the person's neck.

As Wang Zijia's innate qi actively guided, the human face, already squirming, indeed came to life, turning into a mass of black smoke and flowing into Wang Zijia's hand.

Prepared in advance, Wang Zijia extracted most of the contaminated seed, then decisively retreated into his sea of consciousness without waiting for it to take effect

Just as he entered his sea of consciousness, Wang Zijia saw a blood-red illusory weight rapidly condensing on the golden scale.

Weight: Cursed Seed

Status: Contamination

Value: 53

Introduction: A cursed seed erupted by a peak childe realm evil cultivator who fell into the demonic path, due to its deep-seated sin, it possesses extremely strong contaminative properties.

Looking at the blood-red weight, Wang Zijia's face lit up with joy. Indeed, this highly contaminative seed was definitely a good thing.

Considering the ongoing battle in the courtyard nearby, he didn't dare to delay. After all, the appearance of this weight meant that he himself had been contaminated. Who knew what strange things might already be appearing in his body.

Although his sea of consciousness had the golden scale to suppress it such that his consciousness wouldn't be affected, but if others saw the changes in his body from the outside, he might be mistaken for a demon and get killed!

With a wave of his hand, the only spell weight flew down, and Wang Zijia chose to exchange without hesitation.

As the blood-red weight disappeared, the spell weight in his hand grew larger again, and faintly shimmered.

Boom!

A sudden burst of enlightenment flashed in Wang Zijia's mind, numerous insights erupted, and his mastery of talisman making soared rapidly, surpassing the level of proficiency in just a blink of an eye!

Cultivation: Innate

Martial Arts: Shadow Submersion

Technique: Nineteen Cuts of the Wandering Dragon Blade

Spells: Talisman Paper Crafting (Proficiency 205/500)

"Haha, what a windfall without any effort! Proficient-level spell, no need to worry about losses anymore, even a 10% profit is possible. This business is already viable!"

Looking at his information, Wang Zijia's face was filled with joy. After all, he was currently so poor that he only had one copper coin left on him.

He had never been this poor in his past life, he was supposed to transmigrate into wealth, but ended up nearly in debt!

"Who goes there!"

At this moment, Wang Zijia sensed a roar from outside and immediately withdrew from his sea of consciousness.

First, he quickly glanced at the corpses, relieved to see a faint contamination, then turned to look at the source of the sound.

At the other end of the alley, three law enforcement team members were leading a group of city guards, rushing over. The one who had just shouted was the leader of the law enforcement team.

"The law enforcement team needs reinforcements from the city guards already?"

"It seems that the intensity of last night's carnage was even more exaggerated than what I witnessed. The casualties caused by the turmoil must be considerable."

In his thoughts, watching the hurried approach of the group, Wang Zijia calmly stood up and saluted one of them.

"I've met senior brother. I'm Wang Zijia, a miscellaneous disciple of Wan Yu Pavilion!"

The leader first glanced at the people behind him, and they immediately rushed toward the courtyard on the side. The commotion in the courtyard seemed to have ceased by now.

Then he turned to Wang Zijia, scrutinized him for a moment, and seeing that he was indeed dressed as the sect's miscellaneous disciple, asked, "A miscellaneous disciple of Wan Yu Pavilion? What are you doing here?"

"Today there's a shortage of carriages in the city, so I had to walk to work. Passing by here, I heard some commotion, so I came to see if senior brothers needed any help. After all, I'm also a disciple of the sect and have a duty to defend the peace of the city."

Wang Zijia said with a righteous face, coupled with his youthful appearance of fifteen or sixteen, which momentarily stunned the team leader who questioned him.

The leader's expression visibly softened a bit. With a turn of his hand, he took out a card-like identity token, shimmering with light, and quickly checked Wang Zijia's identity.

Then he took out a talisman, which emitted a faint blue light, and began scanning Wang Zijia, seemingly checking if he had been contaminated.

After completing all the checks, the leader put away the two items and said, "Since you're the pavilion's miscellaneous disciple, hurry up and go to work. The matters here aren't something a mere innate martial artist like you can handle."

With that said, he paused, then added, "Next time you encounter such a situation, don't come forward, just inform us immediately. If you really have the heart, hurry up and improve your cultivation. Joining the law enforcement team in the future is the right path."

"Thank you for your guidance, senior brother. Junior brother will remember that!" Wang Zijia played along and changed his self-address smoothly without leaving any trace.

"Well, I'm Mengbei from a certain family. If you can really join the outer gate law enforcement team in the future, come to report to my team." Mengbei casually said, feeling that the commotion in the courtyard had already subsided, "Hurry up and go to work!"

"then junior brother will take his leave." With these words, Wang Zijia slightly enhanced his qi and left without a trace.

Although he wanted to go to the courtyard and maybe even make some profit if possible, being watched by so many people would only lead to trouble.

Since it couldn't be done, there was no point in lingering.

After Wang Zijia disappeared, Mengbei shook his head and muttered, "It's still better to have these miscellaneous disciples outside. They have fewer intentions!" Indeed, Wang Zijia seemed to have fewer intentions, after all, he just wanted to pretend. How could he have any malicious intentions!
